Frequently Asked Questions
The Artworks (Product & Process)
Yes. Every piece is an original work of art, meticulously hand-painted by our skilled artists using high-quality oil paints on canvas.
They are not prints or reproductions.
The main difference is texture and depth. A print is flat ink on canvas, even if it looks textured from a distance. A genuine hand-painted piece from HueMaster has physical layers of paint that catch the light, visible brushstrokes, and a unique "soul" that machines cannot replicate. You can smell the oil paint, and if you touch it (gently!), you can feel the ridges of the artwork.
For a Beige Minimalist or "Japandi" space, we recommend heavily textured abstract art in monochromatic tones (White-on-White, Cream, or Taupe). The goal is to add visual interest through texture rather than loud colors. Our "Wabi-Sabi" inspired collection is designed specifically for this aesthetic.
The current trend is moving away from busy prints and towards large-scale, textured minimalism. Buyers are looking for "Statement Pieces"—oversized abstract works with organic shapes, earth tones (terracotta, sage, oatmeal), and heavy impasto techniques that bring a natural, human touch to modern homes.
For a genuine, hand-painted artwork of that size, a fair market range is typically $450 to $900 USD. Prices below $100 usually indicate a machine print with gel overlay, while gallery prices can exceed $2,000. At HueMaster, we connect you directly with the studio, keeping prices in the $300-$600 range for premium quality.
"Gallery Wrap" means the canvas is stretched over wooden bars and is ready to hang immediately. "Rolled Canvas" ships in a tube for safety. While rolled is cheaper to ship, taking it to a local framer to be stretched can cost anywhere from $300 to $800+, depending on size. We recommend buying "Ready to Hang" (Stretched) if you want a hassle-free experience.
We ship rolled canvas in heavy-duty, reinforced tubes. Because canvas is fabric, there might be slight waves when you unroll it, but no permanent creases.
Once the canvas is stretched onto a wooden frame, the tension naturally pulls it completely flat and smooth.
Not at all. Canvas is naturally lightweight. Even a large 40x40" painting typically weighs under 10 lbs. You can easily hang them using damage-free adhesive strips (like Command Strips for heavy frames) or standard drywall hooks that leave only a pin-sized hole.
We do not have paintings in stock; all our paintings are made to order.
This ensures that we provide only original pieces.
We can also make adjustments to anybody's wishes. For any wishes, please send us an email at info@huemaster.com
High-quality oil paints are very lightfast. However, like any fine art or furniture, direct, harsh sunlight over many years can cause subtle shifts. We recommend hanging art in a place with good natural light but avoiding direct "hot" sun beams hitting the canvas for hours every day.
We are a collective of independent artists. Unlike "painting factories," every piece at HueMaster is Made-to-Order. This means when you place an order, an artist (like our lead artist, Sebastian James, or his team) starts with a blank canvas. This ensures your piece is fresh, unique, and handled with artistic integrity, not pulled from a dusty warehouse pile.
Yes, the golden rule is that the artwork should span roughly 2/3 to 3/4 the width of your furniture. For example, if your sofa is 84 inches wide, a painting (or a set of paintings) between 55 and 63 inches wide is ideal. This creates a balanced look that anchors the room.
Art is subjective, so it can be risky. However, Abstract Art is generally the safest choice because it focuses on feeling and color rather than specific subjects. To play it safe, choose neutral colors (Grey, White, Gold, Blue). Alternatively, a HueMaster Gift Card is the perfect way to let them choose the piece that speaks to them.
You are in the right place! Niche studios like HueMaster, Saatchi Art, and Minted are great alternatives to mass-market retailers. The difference is curation: we focus strictly on abstract, hand-painted modern art, ensuring your home doesn't look like a showroom catalog.
Yes! We offer a Free Mock-up Service. Simply email a photo of your wall to our support team, tell us which painting you like, and our designers will digitally place the artwork in your room so you can visualize the size and color match perfectly.
It comes down to materials and consistency. We use 380gsm cotton canvas (museum grade) and professional paints that resist cracking and fading. Furthermore, our "Stretched" options use kiln-dried pine wood bars that won't warp over time. Many cheaper options use thin synthetic canvas or composite wood that bows after a few months.

Care & Support
They are easier to maintain than you might think! Because we use high-quality oil paints that cure into a durable finish, you simply need to dust them occasionally. Use a soft artist brush or a feather duster to gently flick dust out of the crevices. Never use water or chemical cleaners on oil paintings.
Dusting: Gently use a soft, dry brush or a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
Light: Avoid hanging in direct, harsh sunlight to prevent fading over time.
Environment: Avoid areas with high humidity, extreme temperature fluctuations, or near fireplaces.
With proper care, your oil painting can last for generations.
No, never.
Do not use water, solvents, or any chemical cleaners on the surface, as this can cause irreversible damage.
For deep cleaning, consult a professional art conservator.
